A complete process for developing a brand-new program for innovation specialists in textile manufacturing.

What was the context of this project?
Cometa Formazione is part of the Polo Formativo Tessile, a network of all the main textile training institutions in the Como district. They were assigned a research project for determining the training need for new employeed in textile companies, and selected seed as partner for that.

How was the program developed?
The needs analysis clearly indicated that companies had new expectations from textile vocational training - a new program had to be designed and developed. Cometa formazione and seed put up an ambitious program in collaboration with some of the top Italian textile companies. The goal is training young people to integrate innovation in textile production. This requires technical skills, motivation and creativity.

What are the main challenges?
The main challenge is the audience - none of the participants in the course has a background in textile production. But we took care of that in the design and developed special "access paths" into the subject matter, working with teachers. The second challenge is personalization, which is necessary if you want to motivate and enhance creativity.

Is seed involved in teaching?
Yes, seed is involved as a consultant for the course manager, and as trainer in a coordination space, where students work on their personal book and on their ability to learn and stay up-to-date.
