Cardio-pulmunar Resuscitation in Second Life
Physical learning in a virtual environment
Provide Second Life support for a large CPR learning action in Como, Italy.
Why CPR in Second Life?
Como Cuore is a long-experienced non profit organization that works on training and awareness of hearth diseases. It has recently started a large-scale action for training for CPR, a practice which is not widely known in Italy, and the managers thought that to reach the youth, Second Life would be a powerful channel
Who worked on the project?
First, seed staff took a Mini-Anne kit, a self learning box for learning the CPR. We also found that at San Diego State University, some students had developed SL scripts for CPR. We got in contact and localized that scripts for our context.
What is the result?
A location in SL, on noWomannoLife Island, where you can practice CPR and learn about it. Of course, this is no substitute of real life training, but you can learn the basic steps in the process and get an idea of how it looks like.
